Regulations on the Department of Pathology and Molecular Diagnostics

Pathology course is carried out at the Department of Pathology and Molecular Diagnostics.

Pathomorphology course includes lectures, seminars and laboratory exercises.

The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with morphological changes in organs in the course of various diseases, introduce them to the latest classification of tumors and explain the role of pathologist in the diagnostic process.

 

Safety rules in general

 

  1. Students are allowed in the laboratory only in the presence of a tutor.
  2. Wearing a coat and proper shoes is mandatory in the laboratory.
  3. Each student is obliged to keep their workplace clean and well-organised, including the microscope and slides.
  4. After each laboratory students are obliged to plug off the microscope, cover it and put slides back to the corresponding box.
  5. Shooting photos of the slides is forbidden.

 

Attendance

 

  1. Students are obliged to attend every class and be on time. One excused absence is allowed.
  2. Each unexcused absence must be justified by submitting a proper excuse on the following classes.
  3. Absence because of the following situations:
    • Representation of the university in conference or other competition
    • Retake exam

           

            Will be excused.

 

Seminars and laboratory exercises

 

  1. Students are obliged to be acquainted with the topic of seminars and laboratory classes according to the schedule and syllabus.
  2. Students are obliged to have basic knowledge on the anatomy and histology of the human body.
  3. Tutor is allowed to verify student’s knowledge in an oral or written form.
  4. Students’ knowledge on a given topic will be verified in an oral form according to the schedule. Students are obliged to be acquainted with contents in the coursebook (Robbins Pathology) and presentations.
  5. Exam will be carried out at the end of the year in an oral form.
